
Described as Music Doing Good’s “everyman,” Ray Younkin mixes folk, Americana, rock, and blues into his songs. An accomplished singer/songwriter, Ray weaves heartfelt stories into his songs with his exceptional guitar and vocal skills.
Ray’s an accomplished musician, both solo and in a group. He started touring the country with his celtic band in 1996, and most recently, his song “Blanket Of Night” was awarded 2011 Folk Song Of The Year (you can check out a live recording here: http://youtu.be/
Ray helps anchor Music Doing Good’s “Art of the Singer/Songwriter” series. These shows are held as “Songwriter In The Round” shows, with the performers alternating, each playing a song at a time. Ray was featured at the March 9th show to benefit Houston’s Healthcare for the Homeless, an evening with a concert and a silent art auction that raised over $10,000 for Healthcare for the Homeless.
