Music Doing Good is thrilled to bring back to Houston our friend and legendary Hollywood villain, Ronny Cox, for a fundraising concert benefiting Music Doing Good outreach programs. He is a superbly talented actor, singer-songwriter, storyteller and musician who has been consistently active in Hollywood for more than 45 years.

When he’s not in front of the cameras, Cox can be found touring and demonstrating his musical talents at various music festivals and theatre shows. To-date he has released seven CDs – an eclectic mixture of jazz, folk and western tunes. In 2009, his album Ronny Cox – Songs…with Repercussions, was the number one folk album in the country.

The concert takes place at Kawai Piano Gallery, 5800 Richmond Ave., 77057. General Admission tickets are $40 and includes a cash bar. VIP tickets are $60 and include complimentary cocktails and dinner along with a meet and greet reception with Ronny Cox.

Born in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, Cox received positive reviews in his first film role for his portrayal of ill-fated businessman Drew Ballinger in the terrifying backwoods thriller, Deliverance (1972). Cox was featured in the entertaining “Dueling Banjos” sequence of the film, which also represented his greatest passion in life – music.

Cox’s career spans more than 150 films and numerous television shows. Some of his other blockbuster films include, Total Recall, Robocop, Beverly Hills Cop, and Taps to name a few. Cox has also appeared on many television shows including Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Stargate SG-1, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. And for the next few weeks, he will be appearing on the popular television show, Nashville, which also features one of his original songs.

This Renaissance man has also added author to his credits with the release of a book entitled, Dueling Banjos – The Deliverance of Drew, a collection of stories of the making of the iconic movie Deliverance. There are great anecdotes about his fellow actors Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight and Ned Beatty, all of whom nearly lost their lives during the filming of the movie. Cox will have autographed copies on sale at the concert event.

Sponsors for the event include Tito’s Handmade Vodka, 8th Wonder Brewery, Salata, Kawai Piano Gallery and Cox Media Group. We are truly grateful for their support!
