Marie’s Notes: Importance of Community

Ms. Marie Taylor Bosarge, Founder and President, Music Doing Good

“In every community there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart there is the power to do it.”

—-  Marianne Williamson

The statement by Marianne Williamson resonates so strongly with me. Since the beginning of the year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the myriad of organizations that have contacted Music Doing Good to support our important work. It gives me so much joy to see how the mission of Music Doing Good resonates with the community. We are grateful to Shell Oil Company, Kawai Piano Gallery, Eureka Heights Brewery, The Barry Sea Paradox, Spirit of Harmony (Todd Rundgren’s charity), Team Music Is Love (Martina McBride’s charity) for helping us meet the needs of those we serve.

The adage, “It takes a village to raise a child,” is a profound concept and inarguably true. With so many families struggling to meet the financial needs of the family, teachers, principals, foundations and the private sector are all called upon more than ever to ensure that every child has a shot at a successful life. And should we not be rallied to foster the success of tomorrow’s generation?

But, there is always more to do. I ask you to please stay aware of our expanding outreach programs and the events that support them. If you see something that we are doing that resonates with you, let us know how you can help. Thank you for joining me in creating a world where we all live in concert.
